If you’re in the hunt for a lightweight projector, you’ll be happy to learn that Optoma has just launched three new 4-pound machines that offer power and performance in a slick, easy to tote design.
The Optoma EP721, EP727 and EP728 projectors each feature a plethora of connectivity options (VGA-In/Out, DVI w/HDCP, USB & RS232), a built-in speaker, up to 3000 hours of lamp life, an IR remote, and laser pointer. The Optoma EP721 ($599) rocks 2200 lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and 800 x 600-pixel resolution; the Optoma EP727 ($699) sports the same lumens and contrast ratio as the EP721, but ups the native resolution to 1,024×768; the Optoma EP728 ($999) sees 2700 lumens, while maintaining a 2000:1 contrast ratio and 1,024×768 resolution. The multimedia projectors are available for purchase immediately. If you inner presenter wasn’t already giddy at the sight of EP72x-series, the company has also announced three more projectors that’ll help crown you king of the conference room. The new TX-series projectors sport high brightness levels, DarkChip3 chipsets, and the latest color/scaling technologies from Texas Instruments for making those PowerPoint presentations pop. Here’s the break down. The TX776 features 4000 lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, optional wireless connectivity, a slew of connections (HDMI, DVI w/HDCP, VGA, S-Video, composite, RJ45, 12V Trigger), and HDTV compatible 480i-567i/1080i de-interlacing. The TX782 builds on those specs by adding a native 1024 x 768-pixel resolution and 4500 lumens brightness. Finally, the TX783 brings the ruckus with 5000 lumens with 2000 to 3000 hours of lamp life, power zoom, multiple lens options, and all of the aforementioned ports and connections. The TX-Series will be available in March as an undisclosed price.
